A bit about me 😁

Hi everyone, I'm Kate. I have always had a lifelong passion for animals and first started riding around the age of 12, even as a child I think the horses wellbeing was always top on my list of priorities! I have never really been one for competing or anything like that, my goal has always just been to have happy horses with strong bodies and be able to ride in a way that achieves this.

I have worked at various yards over the years and now work full time at a riding school, while also working as an equine massage therapist.

I qualified in Equine Sports Massage in 2019 and since then have continued learning all I can about the horse and how we can help keep them happy and healthy in their work. I am strongly influenced by the Masterson Method Techniques and definitely believe massage is something that should be done with the horse, not to the horse. No heavy handed pulling, thumping etc to be found here! šŸ˜‚

I have 2 geldings of my own, Jango, a 13.1hh cob I have known since he came to The Horses Voice rescue centre as a 3 month old abandonment case, and Denver, an ex-racehorse who has taught me so much and in my own words is quite often a 'disaster on legs'. I do love him really!

I'm hoping this blog will give me somewhere to keep and pass on the knowledge I come across while also documenting the not-so-perfect life of us everyday horse owners just trying our best for our horses.

Thankyou for reading and I hope I will manage to keep this up šŸ˜…

Kate
